One Step works with close to 1,000 sober livings all across the US to help them digitally monitor and support their residents. Recently, with the corona virus among us, we have seen an overwhelming demand from sober livings wanting to invest heavily in digital monitoring and support.
As we all know, sober living is a crucial part of the continuum of care and recovery journey of a resident. Much of the value of a sober living is in the in person relationships that are formed between the house manager and the residents, and among the residents themselves. However, there are several ways to use digital means to further these connections and structure that your sober living provides. Below are the ways that you can provide digital support and monitoring to your residents.
1) Group Chat
One Step allows your residents to chat and for the house manager to send messages to everyone in the house at once. The great thing about One Step is that the group chat automatically updates when people move in and move out of the house so you always have the most up to date list of residents in your Group Chat.
2) Share Resources
One Step allows you to share TED Talks, emergency contacts, motivational quotes, chore lists, overnight permission forms and other resources for your residents. The ability to share resources with all your current residents at once enables you to easily monitor and support everyone.
3) AA Meeting Check-Ins
One Step has been able to successfully digitize meeting records for you. Instead of having residents take pictures of their feet and get a meeting record signed, have them use the One Step mobile app to check into their meetings. You will be able to verify if they actually attended, how long they were there and be able to keep a log of how many AA meetings they have attended every week. This is especially helpful if there is a court order for them to attend a certain number of meetings as part of their parole or drug court program. All checkins are based on geolocation so if the resident is not at the meeting, he/she will not be able to check in.
4) Curfew Check ins
One Step enables you to have residents check into the house upon curfew. You and your house manager are then easily able to see in real time who is checked into the house. All checkins are based on geolocation so if the resident is not at the meeting, he/she will not be able to check in.
5) Forms
One Step has digitized all forms for you. Your residents can fill out their intake form, overnight permission form, an incident report or any other form. Submissions go straight into your One Step account for you to review in real time. This is a big time saver according to our clients!
7) Motivational Quotes
One Step sends a motivational quote to all your residents at 9am every day. Residents love getting inspirational quotes.
8) Goals
Residents are able to add goals for themselves and you are able to hold them accountable for their goals using One Step. This is a great way to support your residents by having them create goals and keep track of them.
All of these tools are also used by sober livings to engage with alumni. One Step is a great way to stay in touch and digitally support your former residents in their long term recovery.
